I was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I moved to Mobile, Alabama and attended the University of South Alabama. I graduated with a BS in Elementary Education. After college, I moved to Katy, Texas and taught 4th grade. Then I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, completed my Gifted Endorsement, and began teaching Gifted Resource classes. I met my wonderful husband, Pete, and moved to Dallas, Georgia. We have two beautiful daughters, Addison and Avery, and a dog named Izzie. I taught 3rd grade in Cobb County at Teasley Elementary for one year. Then I taught EIP, 3rd, and Gifted Resource in Paulding County for nine years. I am in my second year in Cobb County again and feel so blessed to have two wonderful schools, Lewis Elementary and Cheatham Hill Elementary.
My passion has always been to teach, reach, and enrich students. I love when students create and share connections to learning. In our classroom we read, problem solve, elaborate, evaluate, challenge, make relationships and take risks. I am learning and integrating more technology into our classroom through Skype, Flipgrid, and Edmodo.
I enjoy reading, sewing, embroidering, and crafting. My family loves to camp, hike, and swim together. Our goal is to camp in all 50 states!
